Labour day

International Labour Day is not able to honor the contribution of working people. Generally, it begins from USA Strike on 1st May 1886 and demanded the worker should not work for more than 8 hours. Today in India it is also celebrated by the first beginning since 1923 from Chennai. The Communist movement has taken place and communism begin in India. Then declared as a holiday by Government. May Day is a nationwide bank and public holiday in India. It is well known that International Labour Day is the perfect representation of how workers get together and show their unity.

But it is a fact that so many people are able to celebrate the day because either they afford or they get wages for the holiday. There are so many daily workers who even struggle to get food, shelter and forget about life. Small business people like, farmers, hawkers, shopkeeper, vegetable vendors, private job people, etc. are compelled to work hard. Even they work for 10 to 12 hours or more to survive. The world is celebrating International Holiday, but 8 Hours demand has been forgotten.

So please think from heart, do we still deserve this holiday? Please ask from yourself and re-think if we can do anything for the people who are working for more than 8 hours, not able to celebrate International Labour Day.
